Don't put off until tomorrow the things you could do today.
I never appreciated that statement until now. I have put off things for 10 years. Soon, I won't have the physical ability or energy to get them done. Age is everything, and aging sucks.
So what are my plans? Other than selling everything and run away in horror? Let's git 'er done:
- Kitchen: I'm redoing it. Cabinets and drawers sanded and painted, and their innards better organized. It contains stuff we never use. I like the color scheme Better Half picked out for the bedroom, so I'm repeating it for the kitchen.
- Dining room: get rid of all the shit that doesn't pertain to dining or Better Half's work and play zone. He deserves to sit in a comfy room, not a hoard. He makes for a very poor dragon. I also need to paint the room and have repairs made to the ceiling.
- Bedroom 2: I want this to be my office. I don't mind hanging around in the foyer, but the dogs and noise make it difficult to write. I lose my thought train too easily. Plus, I want a damn BowFlex so I can work on upper arm and core strength before it's too late to build muscle.
- Current office: Yeah, this room is a pain in the arse. I want to turn it into Better Half's hobby zone.
- Bathroom: We just gotta finish it. I demanded a refund from Joyce today. I'm going to see if our insurance covers the damage, and then take Joyce to court for making my life so fucking miserable.
- Basement: toss a match it and burn it to the... Oh, wait. That won't work. Damn. Alright, so we'll start clearing it out a bit at a time. We'll set up zones, like "Christmas Stuff" and "Tools". It looks like a nightmare but it really won't take very long.
- Garage: well, fuckity fuck fuck. This will kill me. It is so crammed with shit we no longer need or use. However, it also contains stuff that I had to store there because the storage unit was full after we cleared house to move it. My mom's selfish decisions still plague me.
I have projects I really want to do, like refinishing the patio furniture we got from Cousin Nick. I want to refinish the dining room chairs. I've always wanted space to work on stuff, but we never had that luxury. Our current basement has a workbench area. I want to use it sooooooooooooo much!
It would be nice is we purged furniture and stuff. We don't need it. Simplify life so that I don't have to worry by time I hit Better Half's age.
