Moen Preston Collection Toilet Tissue Holder
I ordered the Moen Preston Collection Chrome Single Post Toilet Paper Holder, Wall Mounted Hanging Toilet Tissue Holder, DN8408CH, a while back. I've waited to review it until I saw how it performed.
VERSATILE DESIGN
The Good: The chrome finish is highly reflective for a mirror-like look, as promised. The design is unpretentious and beautiful. It can work in any room that you want to hang stuff in. It's corrosion resistant.
The Bad: Nada.
FLEXIBLE PLACEMENT
The Good: Versatile, allowing you to attach to the right or left wall beside your toilet. It's perfectly transitional.
The Bad: Nada.
EASY TP CHANGE
The Good: Yep!
The Bad: Nada.
PEACE-OF-MIND
The Good: Designed for hassle-free installation? Yeah.... no.
The Bad: You will probably need a drill to get the stamped steel mounting bracket screws into the wall. Look for a stud, otherwise this thing can eventually slip out of your drywall.
The Ugly: Perhaps my fixture's screws were defective. It didn't stay on the mounting bracket after a month or so of use. It pops off at the most inopportune times, regardless of how gently you tug some paper off it. You have to keep tightening it to the bracket. The bar also wiggles out of place. You need a special screwdriver to get the tiny screw to drop into the groove. It got to the point where I assembled the thing with screws facing up to make tightening easier.
Seller & Shipping
Moen products are usually trustworthy. They haves fantastic products in their store. You never have to wait long once you've ordered. I didn't not request a replacement, as so much time has passed. I can't assess their return policies for this reason.
OVERALL: I would recommend this product were it not for the screw issues. Those tiny screws have earned this product a single star.
