Pending! A Colorful Moment.

We're pending and I'm as pleased as can be, though my eyebrow is raised. 'Pending' usually indicates that all contingencies have been met by the prospective buyer. A home listed as 'contingent' still has certain contingencies open. Our inspection and appraisal are both tomorrow, and we haven't seen the results of the well testing, ergo the contract is dependable upon that criteria.

By now I expect you, dear reader, to be fed up with all the house bullshit. Don't worry. If all goes well, we'll close by the 1st. Neeto. Until then, hum along quietly and waka chaka.

I'm still grousing about a color scheme. Bright and bold or mature and mellow? I can't wrap my head around it. Lord knows I've tried.

My current musings have gone 'incredibly soft'. It brightens up a small space without visually overwhelming.

The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all in a line. Bright windows and orange-toned wood keep those rooms from looking dreary.

Living room    dining room    kitchen    hallway  ,    bedrooms    bath  .

One bedroom becomes my office. I might paint that either   green   or   canvas  .

[Momentary detour. I had a COVID booster shot today. I'm nauseated as hell.]

The current living room is a soft orange, and the dining is a solid green. It's well-matched with the wood but doesn't suit my taste.

I also have to dance around my couch and loveseat (if both fit and my couch hasn't been destroyed by being stored on its side). They are blue, similar to this shade.

The color works with orange, yellow, blue, and grey.

And then there's my wonky passion: Autumn

I would go full-on bright if I could. But the house is very small. A bright color on a major wall isn't tasteful in a confined space. It can "shrink" a room. My mellow combination above allows the eye to travel towards the very far end. It's an almost seamless blend. Bright colors might overwhelm

By the way, that painting can be found here. I would love to have it for Christmas, if I went with bright colors.

The palate would look a bit like this:

I'm actually grooving on this. Hm.

Living Room    Dining    Kitchen Accent Wall    Kitchen

Hallway    Bedrooms    Bath    Office    or   Office

I could eliminate the green and use blue instead but I like the color break.

And now I need a break. I'm burning out on color selection. Time to watch YouTube or binge on Trollhunters.

Oh damn. I forgot about the massive rug in storage. Ugh.
