One thing leads to another

I supposedly have a doppelganger. The backstory:

An online friend and I often discuss That Chapter where our host, Mike, presents us with some of the craziest cases and unsolved mysteries out there, with some clever jokes stuffed in between.

Yesterday, she sent a link to one of his videos.

"OMG a Toni doppleganger!" (That's a direct quote, and her onus to proofread her DM befire sedning.)

Specifically, she meant Tanya Skelton and "The Mystery of the Skelton Brothers". Tanya's three sons went missing while in their father's care.

An online search yielded a plethora of photographs. Some taken at odd angles do make it seem like she is related to me.

I see a bit of resemblance but she isn't a carbon copy. And her story is a sad one.

According to Mike, "The mystery of the Skelton Brothers began on Thanksgiving, 2010. The three Skelton brothers were celebrating with their father, John Skelton, and then vanished. John says he gave them to a mysterious underground organisation, and that they're safe. Others aren't so sure..."

As of Spring 2021, the brothers have yet to be found.

Where are the Skelton brothers?

There’s still no trace of the three Skelton brothers who vanished 10-years-ago from their home in Morenci on Thanksgiving Day. It is not yet confirmed if the boys are alive or dead, or if their father murdered them.

On Nov. 26, 2010, nine-year-old Andrew, Alexander, 7, and Tanner, 5, were last seen alive playing in the backyard of their father’s home in Morenci. The boys went missing after their father, John Skelton, took them away from their mother, Tanya Zuvers, in the middle of a divorce and custody battle.

According to authorities, investigators tracked him leaving his home in Morenci in the early morning hours and traveling 25 miles southwest into Holiday City, Ohio. He was the last person to see them alive.

After their disappearance, Skelton was charged with his sons’ unlawful imprisonment and is currently serving his sentence at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Iowa.

“I will never quit looking,” said the boy’s mother…I will continue to fight on their behalf for justice.”

Tanya isn't my doppelganger but, with some luck, the story and age-progressed composites above will remain in the public eye.
